Superintendent: Kathy Mears
Kathy Mears is the Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Boston. Kathy joined the Archdiocese of Boston in September 2014. Under Kathy's leadership, the Catholic Schools Office has published comprehensive Faith Formation Standards for students in PreK-Grade 8; transitioned the Archdiocese to the NWEA MAP assessment; introduced KIBO robotics, Math Shelf, and other pilot programs and hosts monthly webinars and podcasts.
Director of Government Grants and Programs: Mary Goslin
Mary Goslin develops workshops and courses for school leaders on how to access federal programs that benefit our students and teachers. She provides resources and professional development activities for school leaders as they support their teachers and students within the mission of the Archdiocese and the Catholic Schools Office. Director of School Improvement Planning: Jaime Gaudet
Jaime ensures support for the academic achievement of schools and implementation of all interventions. She coordinates school improvement plans, ensuring the plans are aligned with the needs of the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese. In addition, she coordinates staff development activities with school administrators and teachers for improving student achievement, and develops long and short-range plans, programs and strategies. Director of Enrollment Management: Sr. Bárbara Gutiérrez, SNDdeN
Sr. Bárbara Gutiérrez, SNDdeN, serves as a consultant to schools assisting in evaluating marketing and recruitment efforts as well as strategies to increase retention. She works with principals, pastors, and key members of the school community to implement current plans or advise changes to connect better with prospective families and boost enrollment. Sr. Barbara also provides insight on how to reach out to Latino and immigrant families and provides information and resources on how to make our schools welcoming spaces for students and families from many cultures. Director of Academics: Dr. Andrew Miller
Dr. Andrew Miller is responsible for coordination of curriculum, instruction, and assessment efforts in Archdiocesan schools. To help inform individual schools’ instructional and curricular decisions, he is also responsible for helping coordinate professional development opportunities and analyzing teaching and learning trends. Dr. Miller supports the analysis of NWEA MAP Growth data, the implementation of Archdiocesan teacher evaluation methods, and the development of innovative curriculum models or instructional designs. Currently, he is working on curriculum mapping and textbook alignment efforts following the release of new Archdiocesan curriculum frameworks/standards to be implemented in the 2018-2019 school year. Data Associate: Becky Mongeau
Becky analyzes data to support CSO projects and reporting, as well as responds to data inquiries and research requests from CSO staff and external partners. In addition, she collects and analyzes survey data for workshops and professional development offered by the CSO. Email Becky.
Operations Associate: Alexis Parry
Alexis Parry is the Operations Associate at the CSO. Alexis handles administrative duties and concerned callers, manages events, works on special projects in the office, and facilitates webinars. She also assists former Catholic school employees with the buyback program and coordinates job postings. Email Alexis.
Associate Superintendent of Mission Effectiveness and Leadership: Dan Roy
Dan Roy is focused on working with leaders and teachers to implement the Faith Formation Standards throughout the Archdiocese, and will be coordinating efforts in the area of catechist certification. Deputy Superintendent: Dr. Amy Ryan
Dr. Amy Ryan's work focuses on academics, archdiocesan-wide assessments (e.g., NWEA, HSPT, PSAT/SAT, and ACT), our student information system, professional development for teachers, educational technology, and grant-funded initiatives. She is also engaged in a mathematics pilot and is a resource for teachers and leaders looking to expand their online presence. Email Amy.
Research and Data Officer: Annie Smith
Annie Smith collects and analyzes data for the CSO and Catholic schools. This data includes enrollment and staff trends, academic test results, and culture and professional development surveys. Based on this data, schools and the CSO can make informed decisions concerning staff, finances, partnerships and more. Email Annie.
Senior Financial Analyst: Jennifer Smith
Jennifer Smith is the Senior Financial Analyst of the CSO. She provides financial analysis, modeling, budgetary planning and development to further school sustainability. She also assists schools as needed with topics such as preparing and certifying the Diocesan Report on School Finances for New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation visits and preparing the financial dashboard for the schools throughout the Archdiocese of Boston. Manager of School Communications: Meghan Stellman
Meghan Stellman coordinates and executes a multimedia approach across social platforms to create and disseminate the Superintendent’s message. She is also the lead person on the nurse professional development program. Email Meghan.
